Today, I am pleased to announce Intertime! Intertime is an interval timer for your Apple Watch. Intertime does not require (or even have) an iPhone application companion. Intertime is super simple and easy to use. Open the app, set the amount of time you’d like to work for (sprint, pedal quickly, lift, etc.) and then set the amount of time you’d like to rest for. Then you tap “Start” and you’re off! You can use the digital crown on your Apple Watch to set the time or use the plus and minus buttons to adjust the time down to the second. Intertime will then tap you on the wrist, and if your sound is on, play a chime when it’s time to switch tasks.
Interval timers are great for improving your fitness and performance. I used Intertime this past summer to increase my VO2Max. I set my sprint for 45 seconds and my jog to 2 minutes. It improved my VO2Max and general workout performance almost instantly, with my VO2Max showing improvements in a week. Whether you’re a diehard athlete or someone just getting into working out, interval timers are sure to improve your fitness and burn calories.
Intertime takes advantage of watchOS 6’s new background modes, which allows Intertime to remain the frontmost app while you’re using it, but is not a workout tracker. I love my workout trackers I already use, chances are, you do too. Therefore, Intertime does not track your workouts, start your workout in your workout app of choice, then start your timer in Intertime.
